Places worth seeing

Most of the monuments have been preserved intact, for example the medieval buildings in the Old Town. The heart of the city is its Market Square, where artists, painters, musicians and students gather, making hundreds of pubs and joints teem with activity day and night. Also, no less famous is the Kazimierz district, where the world's second largest complex of Judaic monuments can be found, with its unique atmosphere.

Oświęcim - it's a place that has to be seen during a visit in Poland. A museum of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, where the Nazis have murdered millions of Jews, Poles, Gypsies and Russians.

Częstochowa - one of the biggest Marian Sanctuaries in Europe - Jasna Góra. The famous icon of Virgin Mary can be found here. Yearly the Jasna Góra shrine is visited by approximately 5 million pilgrims. One can see here, among other things, the Basilica, the Chapel with its miraculous Painting of the Virgin Mary, the Treasury, the Museum, the Arsenal or the Stations of the Cross.

Wieliczka - an underground salt mine attracts tourists with its 3,5 km long tourist route, passing by lakes, original mining equipment, exquisite chapels, salt carvings and great halls hollowed out within the ground. The mine is also a place of many interesting events. That is where the first underground balloon flight took place, as well as the underground bungee jump, and the underground windsurfing took place, 104 meters under the surface of the Earth (on a salt lake).
